A bench of chief justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud and Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra stated it might not be applicable to interdict the method at this stage.

“At this stage when delimitation has recommended having due regard to issuance of the draft proposal on June 2023, it might not be correct to interdict the method at this stage,” the Supeme Court docket said in its order.

It added: “Therefore whereas reserving the constitutional problem, we aren’t issuing any orders restraining the election fee to take any additional steps.”

Nevertheless, the Supreme Court docket said that it’ll hold a detailed watch on the delimitation train in Assam.
