GITAM Deemed to be College might be establishing Science, Expertise and Innovation Hubs (STI Hubs) within the chosen villages of Araku Valley and Paderu mandals within the Alluri Sitharamaraju District. The mission is supported by the Division of Science and Expertise (DST), Authorities of India, by means of a monetary help of ₹3.64 crore.
The hubs are aimed toward bettering the socio-economic situations of the scheduled tribe inhabitants and can function within the hub and spoke mannequin, stated the principal investigator of the mission and affiliate professor of GITAM Biotechnology, I. Sarathbabu.
The primary hub might be in Paderu (district headquarters) whereas the 12 recognized villages in Paderu (Thumpada, Modapalli, Minumuluru, Raigedda, Talarisingi and Yegumodaputtu) and Araku Valley (Padmapuram, Pappuduvalasa, Yandapallivalasa, Chompi, Hattaguda, and Lotheru) mandals will act as hubs, he added.
The mission workforce is planning to determine chilly storage items, vegetable processing equipment, beekeeping, and processing tools together with a coaching centre within the STI Hubs, he knowledgeable, including that coaching might be offered on the niger worth chain, beekeeping, establishing high quality assurance and high quality management laboratories for honey and niger oil, vegetable processing items, chilly storage items, and intercropping.
